IT Specialist

Role Overview
As an IT Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and managing our software, hardware, and networks. You will ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently to support business operations. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support across the company (this may be in person or over the phone).
- Install and configure software and hardware, including network components, servers, and peripherals.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure the smooth operation of networks and systems.
- Conduct diagnostic testing and repair of equipment, networks, and systems.
- Collaborate with other team members to maintain internal documentation and guidelines.
- Ensure security and privacy measures are upheld across all IT infrastructure.
- Track and manage IT assets and equipment inventory.
- Stay updated with the latest technology trends and propose improvements or upgrades.
- Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to project initiatives.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
- +1 year of experience in IT support or a similar role.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, ITIL, or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) are a plus.
- Experience in installing and configuring both software and hardware.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).
- Understanding of networking protocols and fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Proficiency with remote desktop tools and ticketing systems.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
